Position Overview
The Maintenance Assistant is required to be a mechanically inclined individual. The Maintenance Assistant performs maintenance duties for and with the Maintenance Manager, responsible for maintenance and repairs of the building components, systems and equipment, fleet vehicles, and areas surrounding the buildings.
 
Essential Job Functions
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of production machines and facilities equipment and structure
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, fleet vehicles, and plant facilities
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance, carpentry, and HVAC functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
 
Non-essential Job Functions
  • Perform Maintenance duties as needed per site requirements
 
Requirements
  • 2 years related experience and/or and equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical background a plus
  • Able to work in conditions that are not climate controlled (temperature extremes of hot and cold)
  • Able to stand and walk for 8+ hours per day on concrete surfaces and climb ladders/stairs.
  • Able to periodically lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid Driver’s License – Class C
