Position Description: 
The Human Resources Director plans, organizes and manages the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and services including, but not limited to, employee relations, recruitment, compensation and benefits, professional development, employee engagement, performance management, and HR law and regulatory compliance. The Human Resources Director directs and oversees the organization’s HR plans in ways that support the company’s mission and overall strategy. The Human Resources Director role will include the interpretation and administration of HR policies.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties: 
  • Supervise, support, and develop the team of HR professionals.
  • Develop, implement, direct, and evaluate all areas of human resources including, but not limited to, employee relations, recruitment, compensation and benefits, professional development, employee engagement, performance management, and HR law and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide HR leadership and counsel on matters involving people, management, and leadership.
  • Leverage best practices to monitor employee relations, diversity, inclusion, and anti-oppression; address employee concerns ensuring organizational values; and uphold the standard of excellence in employee performance and supervisory training
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance across the HR department and organization.
  • In collaboration with the President, manage the HR budget.
  • Evaluate and ensure quality and consistency of all areas of Human Resources.
  • Stay up to date on best practices and current research around HR and workplace initiatives and propose improvement measures to the President
  • Collaborate with the leadership to ensure that the organization’s operational priorities are aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategic plan.
  • Oversee negotiation of employee benefits contracts and implement and administer employee insurance plans that attract and retain staff.
  • Research salary market rates to ensure competitive salary recommendations.
  • Oversee and implement CCC University and HR Competency Training for Supervisors.
  • Identify best practices for accountability and reporting metrics that support the goals and objectives of the HR department and the organization.
  • Implement organization-wide projects and other HR-related strategic initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources Management.
  • A minimum for 5 years’ experience supervising HR professionals,
  • A PHR or SPHR is preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing all HR areas, preferably in a manufacturing setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite, HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred)
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence skills to build, cultivate, and facilitate strong working relationships
  • Strong execution skills: proven ability to implement programs and/or drive outcomes
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the highest level of regard for confidentiality
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and strategies to recognize and address systemic barriers faced by historically marginalized communities
  • Project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate organizational needs and use independent judgment in resolving issues
  • Team builder who can motivate and inspire others and build trust across an organization
  • One who can make decisions, exercise judgment and interface effectively with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Mindset for continuous improvement accompanied by problem sensitivity and critical thinking skills
  • Ability and willingness to operate both strategically and tactically and to translate strategies into plans that serve and support the organization
  • Can handle very challenging situations, including daunting tasks and complex interpersonal issues, with a calm, assured, and compassionate approach.
  • Self-starter, self-motivating leader who requires little to no supervision and who can operate successfully in a fast-paced culture
