SUMMARY:  Assist the Development Director in all facets of the development function at Aggieland Humane Society. Including data entry and management, thanking donors appropriately and timely, planning and implementing donor events, developing relationships with donors and sharing opportunities to make a difference for lost and homeless pets at Aggieland Humane Society.
 
GENERAL DUTIES:
  • Uphold the Base Code of Conduct of the Aggieland Humane Society at all times
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and manage questions from donors
  • Keep timely records of contacts and donor visits
  • Gift entry into donor database and timely generation of thank you letters
  • Run database queries for mailings, correspondence, and analysis
  • Assist and report on all solicitation efforts & generate monthly reports
  • Assist in development of grant applications
  • Assist in donor events – planning, implementation, & necessary data entry
  • Work on mission related and fundraising events and tours
  • Maintain a portfolio of 25 entry level donors including corporate sponsors
  • Identify and cultivate individuals who believe in Aggieland Humane mission
  • Complete and maintain Development Office Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Other duties as assigned
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma required; BS and BA preferred
  • Development/fundraising/non-profit experience preferred
  • Minimum 8 years sales and marketing experience will be considered
  • Experience with Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Previous donor relationship management software experience preferred
 
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work with the public/donors in a calm, courteous manner; tactful with upset donors
  • Exceptional writing and computer skills
  • Detail oriented, high level of accuracy, & good organizational skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Must gain proficiency in donor software/Little Green Light and PetPoint Software, including generation of reports
  • Familiarity with social media, email marketing, and website management platforms
  • Ability to handle stress associated with euthanasia of animals, loud noises and strong odors
  • Must not be allergic to cats or dogs
