Job Description

StataCorp is seeking a Mac developer to work on our flagship product, Stata. Stata is used by hundreds of thousands of researchers of all disciplines and provides features for all their data science needs: data manipulation, visualization, statistics, and automated reporting.  

This is an opportunity to develop end-user applications for not only Macs but also Windows and Unix (including Linux). For more than 30 years, StataCorp has been one of the leading statistical software producers in the world.

Required skills

  • Experience with Objective-C and C/C++

Preferred skills

  • Experience with MFC, Swift, or GTK

  • Experience developing portable code for use in a multiplatform code base

  • Ability to develop 3D graphics

  • Ability to work in a Unix environment

  • Ability to write technical documentation 

  • Knowledge of numeric algorithms

  • Experience with web development

  • Knowledge of mobile app development

Candidate requirements

  • A master's degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minimum of 2 years of experience 

  • Good communication skills, including the ability to write and speak in English

  • Must be able to work in-house at our headquarters in College Station, Texas.

 

Starting salary is commensurate with experience. StataCorp is a rapidly growing company, and this position has significant potential for growth in responsibility and compensation upon proven performance. StataCorp offers an excellent benefits package. Employees work only 4 weekdays (32 hours), enjoying a great work–life balance.
