Building B/CS: An Evening with Johnny Campbell
"Innovation, Structure & Success"
As president and CEO of Fort Worth’s Sundance Square—the historic, 40-block section of downtown that straddles Main Street—Campbell knows a thing or two about managing a thriving urban environment that’s appealing and accessible.
Since 2001, Johnny K. Campbell has been responsible for development, leasing, merchandising, and property management of Sundance Square’s portfolio of properties. Under his leadership, Sundance Square has continued to expand, improve, and achieve national prominence.
Prior to joining Sundance Square, Mr. Campbell worked with the Rouse Company of Columbia, Maryland, for 20 years. His urban mixed-use management responsibilities have included Harborplace and The Gallery on the inner harbor of Baltimore; Pioneer Place in Portland, Oregon; Westlake Center in Seattle; The Riverwalk in New Orleans; Tabor Center in Denver; and Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix.
He is currently chairman of the board of Downtown Fort Worth, Inc., and is the immediate past chairman of the board of the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau and remains on that board. He also currently serves on the board of directors of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Library Foundation, Aledo Independent School District, and North Texas Commission. He is actively involved in several projects related to transportation, the public market, and community efforts in Fort Worth.
Mr. Campbell is a graduate of the University of Houston.
