Web Developer

StataCorp is a leading statistical and data science software provider. We are seeking a skilled web developer and designer to join our team in support of StataCorp's various websites, both external and internal.

 

Job duties

  • Design web-based front ends with a focus on UX on all platforms for both informational and application pages
  • Suggest and implement front-end code for web-based applications and company website
  • Direct and perform updates to web front ends
  • Consistently create well-designed, tested code using modern best practices for website development
  • Work with back-end developers to design useful internal applications

Candidate requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A firm understanding of the following web-programming languages and technologies: PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Working experience in Windows and Linux environments
  • Understanding of SEO principles and how to design websites with SEO in mind
  • Understanding of browser compatibility issues and how to work around them
  • Experience with mobile and responsive site design
  • Understanding of web-security best practices
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and apply ideas
  • Experience with graphic design, especially in relation to UI/UX

Desirable skills

Although not requirements, the following are also desirable:

  • Experience with web technologies not listed above, such as SASS, React, Angular, and Node.js
  • Experience with implementing web toolchains such as webpack, Babel, Vite, ESLint, and gulp.js
  • Experience with Adobe Commerce implementation and customization
  • Experience with WordPress and vBulletin customization
